The Chevy Equinox is a zippy, comfortable, and affordable family SUV. And the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV provides it all in an efficient and earth-friendly format.

Affordability

Kelley Blue Book sets the average price for a new EV in 2025 at $57,734, which is a big price given that the average cost for a conventional engine car is only $48,799. Yes, prices are lower than they’ve ever been for EVs, but you’re still paying a hefty surcharge for the privilege of going green.

But this is exactly where the Chevy Equinox shines so brightly.

With prices well below $35,000 even brand new, the EV is extremely affordable and competitively priced. It’s made to ensure everyone has access to an EV vehicle. In fact, even if you go for a higher trim and a more powerful motor and the all-wheel drive, the cost is still less than the average price for a conventional vehicle, and by thousands of dollars.

Range

When you choose the front-wheel-drive version of this vehicle, you get up to 319 miles of range. For the all-wheel-drive version, you get 307 miles. It also comes with Regen on Demand and Chevy’s One Pedal Driving systems, and together these let you take the kinetic energy from the vehicle as it stops and store it in the battery.

Beyond that, you can also use the cabin preconditioning feature to get the cabin temperature just as cool in the summer and warm in the winter as you like, and you do so using power from your outlet, not from the car’s battery. The result is you don’t waste battery energy on that initial task, which typically drains the battery quite a bit in extreme temps.

Easy to Equip

Chevy knows that every family is different and thus offers plenty of choices with the Equinox. One of our favorite options is the Convenience Package II, which offers a six-way, power-adjustable front passenger seat to match the power adjustability for the driver’s seat that you already get and makes both those front seats ventilated. You also get automated walk-up lighting. You can also choose options like wireless phone charging, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel, and you can equip the 17.7 inch diagonal screen with Google built-in compatibility.

Safety Tech

Chevy is big on keeping you safe, and the Chevy Safety Assist suite of features comes to standard on every model. You get an LED reflective windshield collision alert, forward collision alert, rear park assists, rear cross-traffic braking, and reverse automatic braking, among other options. The Equinox also comes with Teen Driver standard.
