If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to drive a street-legal race car, the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is your answer. This isn’t just a sports car dressed up with aggressive styling—it’s a purpose-built performance machine co-developed alongside the championship-winning Corvette GT3.R race car. From its naturally aspirated V8 engine to its driver-focused cockpit, the Z06 is engineered to deliver on every promise.

Whether you’re hitting the track or cruising through Mesa, Arizona, the Z06 offers a driving experience that’s hard to match at any price point. Here’s a closer look at what makes it stand out.

A Record-Setting Naturally Aspirated Engine

The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 shows off a 5.5L LT6 V8 engine. This flat-plane crank V8 roars with 670 hp, making it the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever offered in a production car. That’s a significant claim, and the numbers back it up.

The engine revs to a redline of 8,600 rpm and pairs with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission to deliver power with remarkable precision. Equip it with the Z07 Performance Package, and the Z06 can hit 60 from a standstill in a jaw-dropping 2.6 seconds, as well as complete the quarter-mile in 10.6 seconds at 131 mph. All of that without a supercharger or turbocharger in sight.

The mid-engine layout places weight closer to the center of the car, improving balance and handling dynamics. It’s a configuration borrowed directly from the world of motorsport.

Track-Focused Performance You Can Actually Use

Chevrolet built the Z06 to be a capable, well-rounded track machine that’s equally at home on a closed course as it is on public roads. Standard Magnetic Selective Ride Control 4.0 reads road conditions in milliseconds and adapts damping in as little as 10 to 15 milliseconds, keeping the car composed through corners and over imperfect surfaces.

Standard 6-piston front and 4-piston rear brakes give you confident stopping power, and available 4-wheel disc carbon ceramic Brembo® brakes take that capability even further. The available Z07 Performance Package adds Michelin® Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer-only tires, a unique rear spoiler, and a Carbon Fiber Aero Package that includes a high wing, ground effects, and dive planes.

That package also contributed to a Nürburgring lap time of 7:11.826—a result that reinforces the Z06’s credibility as a serious performance vehicle, not just a showpiece.

Driver-Centric Cockpit

The 2026 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is built for performance inside the cabin just as much as it is under the hood. The redesigned cockpit features 3 new driver-facing display screens: a 12.7” center console display, a 14” Driver Information Center, and a 6.6” touchscreen auxiliary display. Together, they create a command center feel that keeps critical information within easy reach.

Drive modes give you full control over how the Z06 behaves. Tour, Sport, Track, Weather, MyMode, and Z Mode all adjust throttle response, suspension tuning, steering feel, and exhaust sound to match the situation. The new PTM Pro Mode disables traction and stability controls entirely, allowing experienced drivers to push the car to its absolute limits.

The available Enhanced Performance Data Recorder is now fully integrated into the vehicle’s screens, so you can review lap data, compare sessions, and receive automated coaching tips without needing a separate device.

Trims and Customization

The depth of this sports car’s trim and customization options is enticing. Three trim levels allow you to choose how much technology, luxury, and performance hardware you want.

The 1LZ starts with strong fundamentals including a Bose® 10-speaker premium sound system, 8-way power GT1 seats wrapped in Mulan leather, a color Head-Up Display, and a wireless phone charger. The 2LZ upgrades to a 14-speaker Bose® Performance Series sound system, heated and ventilated seats, a Performance Data Recorder, and several driver assistance features. The top-tier 3LZ brings Napa leather GT2 seats with carbon-fiber trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and sueded microfiber upper interior trim.

For 2026, 5 new premium interior colorways are available, ranging from Sky Cool Gray and Medium Ash Gray with Habanero accents to Santorini Blue with Jet Black. Seating configurations include the GT1, GT2, Competition Sport, and a unique asymmetrical pairing designed exclusively for the Adrenaline Red interior. Multiple forged aluminum and carbon fiber wheel options round out the personalization possibilities.
