Introducing The First-Ever Electric Silverado
Created from scratch as a fully electric truck using GM's advanced Ultium EV Platform, the Silverado EV presents an innovative blend of power, performance, and adaptability, all while incorporating advanced technologies that can be updated as the vehicle develops. The Silverado EV offers a feature called the midgate design, which lets you fold down the wall between the bed and the cab to get more storage space. The truck has a big battery that can give it a range of up to 450 miles on a single charge. With fast-charging technology, you can add 100 miles of range to the battery in just 10 minutes. The Silverado EV also has two electric motors that give it all-wheel drive and up to 754 horsepower. This electric truck can tow up to 10,000 pounds and carry up to 1440 pounds of stuff in its bed.
The Silverado EV will gradually become available to customers starting in 2023 as a 2024 model. At launch, it's going to have two exciting versions for you to choose from: the RST First Edition and the work-ready WT model. Both of these options will come packed with a bunch of safety technologies to keep you feeling confident and secure on the road!
Flagship RST First Edition
The Silverado EV will launch it's flagship RST first edition as the initial consumer-focused model. Some of the features on this groundbreaking truck include:
- Four-wheel steering
- Automatic Adaptive Air Suspension
- Multi-Flex Midgate that expands the truck’s cargo capability while maintaining seating for a rear row passenger
- Available Multi-Flex Tailgate with power release
- Large, 17-inch-diagonal LCD freeform infotainment screen paired with a neighboring 11-inch-diagonal reconfigurable driver instrument display and a multi-color driver head-up display with a field of view over 14 inches
- Trailering-capable Super Cruise, the industry’s first true hands-free driver-assistance technology, allowing drivers to travel hands-free on more than 200,000 miles of compatible roads across the U.S. and Canada
Easy Charging and Electric Utility
Both the RST and WT versions are equipped with public DC fast charging capabilities, allowing for speeds of up to 350kW. This means that approximately 100 miles of driving range can be added in just 10 minutes, according to GM's estimates.
When you combine this with the available accessory power bar, the Silverado EV's PowerBase charging system can offer up to 10 outlets, delivering a total of 10.2kW of electric power. This can cater to various needs, whether at a worksite or for recreational activities, and can even provide power for your home if you have the necessary equipment.
The Silverado EV also has the ability to charge another electric vehicle using the accessory charge cord, which means it can share its power when needed.
With the growing network of chargers across North America and the Energy Assist feature in the myChevrolet Mobile App, drivers can plan energy-efficient routes, even while towing.
Owners of the RST version also have access to Ultium Charge 360, which is GM's comprehensive approach to EV charging. This includes access to over 100,000 publicly available charging points in the United States and Canada, aiming to simplify the charging experience.
For WT customers, there's Ultium Charge 360 Fleet Service, offering a comprehensive charging solution for businesses. This is useful whether drivers take their vehicles home or return them to a central depot.
Designed for functionality inside and out
The Silverado EV RST and WT have been cleverly designed both inside and out, with functional flexibility in mind.
The truck's exterior proportions and surface design communicate its capabilities and athletic performance. The front-end design has been carefully shaped to guide air smoothly along the sides, effectively decreasing drag and turbulence. This helps the Silverado EV WT achieve one of the lowest drag coefficients among available full-size pickup trucks - a large factor in it's impressive driving range.
The Silverado EV will exclusively come in Crew Cab models, designed with a shorter front overhang that gives the truck a more assertive presence, added space, and improved visibility ahead. The back seat has been moved backward, ensuring that passengers over 6 feet tall can be comfortable in any seat.
Both the RST and WT models have customizable storage options in the front row, making the best use of the interior space and offering practical solutions for various customer needs.
There's also the eTrunk, a secure and weather-resistant compartment in the front of the vehicle. It's roomy enough to fit a large hardside suitcase and comes with various accessory options, catering to both fleet and individual customers with specific gear-loading requirements.
The RST version boasts a modular console with a capacity of just over 7 gallons, allowing for items like a lunch cooler to fit easily. This model also includes a fixed-glass roof that provides better visibility, more headroom, and an enhanced experience for everyone on board.
For the RST, the 5-foot-11-inch bed's storage capacity is optimized with the Multi-Flex Midgate. This feature provides over 9 feet of storage space between the cab and the tailgate when the Midgate is open.
The second row's 40/60 seat can be adjusted in four ways, enabling users to transport gear or equipment while still accommodating a passenger. With the Multi-Flex Tailgate, the Silverado EV RST offers a load floor and storage capability of up to 10 feet, 10 inches. An available tonneau cover ensures that items like lumber or a kayak can be securely stored in a weatherproof compartment.
Powered by GM's Ultium Platform
The Silverado EV makes use of the Ultium Platform, which is the foundation of GM’s electric vehicle strategy and supports the company’s vision for a zero-emissions future. A new body structure, incorporating the 24-module Ultium battery pack as an integral part of the fundamental architecture, contributes to the impressive range of the vehicle. This design blends the anticipated strength, endurance, and performance attributes that Silverado customers associate with a full-size pickup, while also delivering a smoother and more confident ride on various terrains.
Furthermore, the chassis is crafted with both independent front and rear suspensions. Power is distributed to the available 24-inch wheels on the RST version through front- and rear-drive motors, forming the e4WD system. An Automatic Adaptive Air Suspension allows the vehicle's height to be adjusted by up to 2 inches (50 mm).
The inclusion of four-wheel steering capability reduces the turning radius when moving at lower speeds, enhancing maneuverability in tight spaces, such as parking lots. It also improves handling and stability when traveling at higher speeds, particularly while towing trailers.
The RST and WT models are equipped with Tow/Haul mode, provisions for trailer hitch, an integrated trailer brake controller, and Hitch Guidance. The RST variant additionally boasts Chevy’s Advanced Trailering System.

Technology to Propel You Forward
The Silverado EV is loaded with cutting-edge technology, and it's not just any tech—it's the kind that can actually get better as time goes on!
Imagine pulling up to the RST with your phone or key fob. As you do, a unique light show welcomes you. It's like your truck is saying, "Hey, glad you're here!"
Once you step inside, get ready for a cool 3D animation on the RST’s big 17-inch infotainment screen. Right next to it is an 11-inch display for the driver. And as if that's not enough, there's also a head-up display that shows important stuff on a screen over 14 inches wide. It's like having a dashboard from the future. Oh, and get this—thanks to a new hands-free start feature, the truck kicks on by itself when you hop in with your enabled device. No need to press anything, so you can just buckle up and hit the road.
One big secret behind all the amazing tech in the Silverado EV is something called Ultifi. It's like the brain that makes everything work smoothly. Developed by GM's own tech wizards, Ultifi separates the truck's software from its hardware. What's cool about that? Well, it means the truck can easily get updates, like how your phone gets updates to be even cooler. So, as time goes on, your Silverado EV can learn new tricks and get even better at what it does. It's like having a truck that grows with you!
